Brevi note sulla registrazione

Questo grande organo con la sua timbrica, unita alle caratteristiche acustiche del Tempio Don Bosco, riesce ad ottenere delle sonorità difficilmente udibili in altri luoghi organistici. La struttura della chiesa genera una grande uniformità sonora tanto che, spostandosi all’interno di essa in qualunque posizione, anche molto distante dall’organo, il messaggio musicale è sempre identificabile con le singole note ben chiare, e amalgamate.

Con tale strumento, è stato possibile eseguire un programma che spazia in un vasto lasso di tempo, fino ad autori contemporanei. Le diverse esigenze, anche contrapposte, tra il repertorio antico, romantico e contemporaneo sono state soddisfatte a pieno e le rispettive sonorità completamente rispettate, fornendo una tavolozza di suoni davvero unica come ad esempio nell’esecuzione di Hindemith.

La presa del suono e stata fatta in modo da ricreare le sonorità e l’ambienza che si avrebbe sedendoci a circa 8/10 metri dallo strumento, dove la combinazione tra suono diretto e riverbero ambientale, creano a mio giudizio un ascolto molto emozionante. I microfoni sono stati posizionati sia nelle vicinanze dell’organo, sia in mezzo alla chiesa per raccogliere il riverbero che questa struttura riesce generare.

Il fine ultimo di questo CD è di ricreare una ricostruzione dell’evento concertistico più reale possibile. L’ascolto dal vivo di questo strumento infatti, rappresenta un‘emozione che ogni appassionato di musica organistica dovrebbe provare.

Brief notes on the recording

This big organ with its timbre, connected with the acoustic characteristics of Don Bosco Temple, can obtain sonority hard to hear in other organ places. The structure of the church creates a great acoustic regularity so as to hear the musical message that is always identifiable with the single notes which are clear and well combined together, even when you move inside the church in every position, also very far from the organ itself.

With such an instrument it has been possible to perform a programme that sweeps in a wide a lapse of time, up to contemporary authors. The different needs, sometimes opposing, among the ancient, romantic and contemporary repertory have been fully satisfied and each sonority has been respected, giving a palette of sounds really unequalled such as for example in Hindemith performance.

The sound setting wants to recreate the sonorities and the setting we would have by sitting at about 8/10 meters far from the instrument, where the combination between direct sound and environmental reverberation creates, according to me, a really moving hearing. The microphones have been placed both near the organ and in the middle of the church in order to get the reverberation that this structure can aroused.

The aim of this CD is to recreate a real reconstruction of the concert event . In fact, the live hearing of this instrument represents an emotion which every organ lover should try.
